saul williams is a great modern poet, haruki murakami, perfume is a great twisted novel by patrick susskind, lots of different poets just take my word for it, books on anthropology, art, architecture, design, and history. in cold blood by truman capote, lolita and glory by vladimir nabokov, rimbaud, baudelaire, fyodor dostoevsky, lawrence ferlinghetti, white shroud by allen ginsberg, the great gatsby, i even cried to perks of a wallflower.
